Why wrongful
incarceration happens

The history of wrongful incarcerations is preceded by the histories of colonialism, slavery, and racism in America. To try and understand why the U.S. incarcerates more people than any other country in the world and why so many of those convictions are wrongful, we must first understand who the criminal prosecution system had in mind when it was created.
